I am a researcher and analyst working in science, policy, and decision-making. I use bioinformatics, risk analysis and evidence synthesis to turn complex research into clear, useful insight for scientific, regulatory, industry and public audiences.

I have led projects with government, industry and academic partners, and I am particularly interested in work that contributes to a safer, more sustainable and responsible future. (Modest ambitions, broadly speaking).

Evidence that this has occasionally gone well includes an award for research on biological-hazard regulation in outer space; selection as a Young Professional Delegate to the Summit for Space Sustainability in New York; and more than $150,000 in competitive funding. I have worked across industry as a data analyst and research strategist, led a microgravity research-flight campaign with the Canadian Space Agency and the National Research Council Canada, and published six peer-reviewed papers, including work in Scientific Reports and Royal Society Open Science. I have also shared my research through international presentations and interviews on CBC television and radio, with no obvious lasting damage.

Originally, and proudly, from Manchester, I enjoy judo, cycling and learning languages, with varying degrees of grace.
